EU AI Act Risk Review for GenAI Projects
Classify your AI system under the EU AI Act in five minutes. Risk category, applicable articles, and a printable memo. Everything runs in your browser. No account, no server, no data shared.
What you'll build
You'll build a Next.js tool that classifies an AI system under the EU AI Act and generates a printable memo. The app asks about 20 targeted questions (does it do social scoring? is it a safety component of a regulated product? is it a general-purpose model over the 10²⁵ FLOPs threshold?) and maps the answers to one of six risk categories: Prohibited, High-risk, GPAI with systemic risk, GPAI without systemic risk, Limited, or Minimal.
The output is a memo. Risk classification, the specific articles that apply (Article 5 prohibitions, Annex III high-risk areas, Chapter V GPAI rules, Article 50 transparency obligations), a plain-English obligations checklist, and a follow-up list flagging things to escalate to counsel. Hit Cmd+P in your browser and you have a PDF you can send to your compliance team.
Everything runs locally in localStorage. No account, no backend, no analytics. The system descriptions you type, the classifications, the memo: none of it leaves your machine. That's the whole positioning, and it's what makes the tool usable for sensitive systems where cloud-based compliance SaaS is a non-starter.
Ships with the rule set hand-coded against the published text of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 so you can review it yourself, swap in your own interpretation, or update as AI Office guidance lands. Builds in about two hours on Claude Code free tier.
